Clouds, statue and café in the square

Los sillas están vacío. La lluvia cae en la estatua. Me gusta a Oviedo mucho pero me gustaría la mas sin nubes. ¡Posible mañana, posible mañana!

Mi primer fiesta en España

Llego a Oviedo un día antes de la fiesta “Martes de Campo.” Es una fiesta típica de la ciudad de Oviedo. Para celebrar Martes de Campo, la gente de Oviedo toma bollos en el campo y bebe sidra o vino con sus amigos. Fui con la hija de mi familia anfitriona, Barbara, y sus amigos a un bar en la playa y sidrerías en Avilés. Comimos bollos de jamón serrano, tocamos música y cantamos. Un hombre jugaba un Gaita, típico de Asturias. Aprendí canciones populares de España con la guitarra. También, aprendí como escanciar la sidra. Probé el licor de anis. Me gusta salir con gente de Oviedo porque son animados y divertidos. Después del bar, condujimos a un lugar para ver la puesta del sol. Hacia frío pero fue muy divertido. La vista de la puesta del sol fue bonita. Cuando volvimos a casa estuve muy cansado y dormí muy bien. Fue un buen primer día en España.

Hey, I'm Jordan and this is my blog. I'll be blogging with pictures and entries (in Spanish) this summer from the Spanish study abroad program in Oviedo, Spain for the University of Utah. I’ll also blog after the program from Barcelona. One of my favorite songs has a good message in the title “No Expectations” but for this huge of an experience the possibilities of awesome are hard to ignore! I am looking forward to meeting some great people, from the U and in Spain. I can’t wait to be immersed in Spanish culture for 2 months! Traveling for that long in a foreign place, the opportunities and challenges are too many to count. There’s the Spanish team in the World Cup, rock climbing in the Pyrenees, Spanish beaches, Spanish concerts and the list goes on. There are always two sides to the coin. I’ve learned before that foreign travels aren’t always easy, but you gotta risk it to get it haha!
